Tom Karlo to Retire as GM of KPBS

Tom Karlo, GM of KPBS in San Diego, will retire from the station at the end of the year.   Karlo started working for KPBS in 1973 while attending San Diego State University, the station’s licensee. He held several positions, working in departments including production, operations, finance, and program distribution. He was named GM in 2009.

Though much of college radio station activity has been hamstrung by COVID-19 limitations, early October will see the return of World College Radio Day. Officially October 2, the 10th annual World College Radio Day will feature rocker Bret Michaels as its Official 2020 Ambassador. Michaels is best known for his work with the band, Poison.

Public TV Fights Datacasting Fees at FCC
